So, I just downloaded the new one UI 8. Is anyone else having problems with it since they've downloaded it? Since the download now when I open an app there's a non-animated AR row going in a circlearrow circle... what's that all about? I'm also having problems with the Amplify Ambient Sound always running in the background.

So if this works. I will be able to turn my phone volume up and turn it all the way down to silent again whenever I want to? If not then its pointless. Us who are mad, want the button to have control back1760621304688.jpg1760621304699.jpg1760621304711.jpg

Apologies, forgot that button actions are associated with Routines+.

Download here: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.app.routineplus

Then you will be able to set the desired routine.

I anticipate the response that you shouldnโ€™t have to download routines+ to restore a behavior which was previously available. I understand that this frustrating.

Other users here cannot change the behavior, we can only assist you with workarounds. Sending feedback to Samsung via the support tab is the proper mechanism to make your voice heard on the issue.1760621656370.jpg

@MaxxOrnelas831

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're experiencing.

If following @Mujibar's steps does not resolve your issue, please reach back out and clarify a bit. The more detail you provide and the more clearly you explain what you're experiencing, the more likely it is other users can assist you and resolve your issue.

Its the point, don't mess with what works. who came up with the idea, hey were gonna take away silencing the phone... an option that's been the same way for a decade or more..... there was zero issue for it. If it wasn't such a big deal, do an internet search, more than 20 articles. I'm one of them, if you mess with the things I've been using forever. Then I'm gonna join other manufacturers and leave you in the dust.

Like seriously why are we taking that option away? What is so important to take that away? Is the creator of this update just trying to leave his mark?

@CEParsons gave you a valid workaround. Submit feedback to Samsung if you want it changed back.

I still find it interesting that so many users
1) fully mute their phones so that they don't even vibrate, effectively making it so that their phone doesn't notify them and they miss important notifications

and

2) strictly use their volume buttons to change sound modes.

I have always mentally associated the volume buttons strictly with media volume, going back the days of Froyo/Gingerbread. I always used Quick Settings widgets for sound mode, even before they were integrated into the notification panel.

I hear you. I like the quick panel toggle.

I've submitted. Sux it had to be changed in the 1st place. I have meetings daily. If I get calls during meetings I need to mute that phone right then and there. If I cant then I gotta get something that can

The easiest way I know to do that is to tap the sound icon in the quick panel. It will toggle between sound modes. 1760627926468.jpg
