New FE won't upload pix to FB via browser

I'm stumped and frustrated. Switched from 22Ultra to a new 23Fe about 2 weeks ago. I use Opera browser to access FB and deleted the FB app, have done it this way for years now on the 22 Ultra and before that. 

I didn't notice at first but cannot directly upload pics to FB account to create a poat/on my wall BUT can upload pics as a reply to an already existing post on FB. It's crazy.

Very weird. I'm about to send this phone back if I can't resolve. 

I checked permissions, restarted but what's the solve here??

More info- I try to upload, it allows me to select pix, then return to new post as if nothing was selected.

Did you sign out of your Facebook account on the S22 Ultra through the Opera browser before deleting the app ?
