Galaxy S23

My Galaxy S 23 recently started to automatically mute so I don't know when it rings. I have gone through the system check that it was not muted, volume was turn up the DND was not turned on. I have restarted several times and it has the latest software up grade.

1. Go to device Settings
2. Scroll to Advanced Features
3. Tap on Motions & Gestures
4. Check to see if MUTE With Gestures is Enabled/Disabled

Thanks for the suggestion; disabled it and still automatically mutes.

Try restarting your phone. Since you disabled it.

Other things you can try.

Check your Do Not Disturb settings and make sure that it hasn't gotten scheduled somehow.

If you use Modes and Routines, check those also. For example, I have a Mode that automatically sets the phone to vibrate whenever I'm at a doctor's office, but I accidentally added my home address to the list of trigger locations.

Here are some other things you can try. I hope one of them helps.
