Messenges icon disappeared

The messages icon on my Galaxy 23 disappeared and it's not on my apps icon pages.   The app is still on the phone, but I can't access it because the icon is no longer there.  How can I get it back?

Is it by any chance hidden? Long press the home screen, tap settings, and go to "hide apps on home and apps screens" to check.

Yes, it was hidden and I finally figured it out this morning and got it back and on my home screen.  Thanks for your help.
