I would like to know if Link for Windows is substitute for DeX? Does it offer desktop version of my Samsung on Windows, like with DeX? Or is just some tool that let me access my data and receiving calls on my PC? Because DeX for Windows is actually really usefull? I don't need to accept calls on my PC, neither I need access to photos. Can someone explain to me, how will I be able to use my Samsung in desktop mode on my PC? This is functionality that i expect from Link for Windows? Does it provide that?

I don't think Link for Windows have a desktop mode, so no, it's not the proper replacement for Dex for PC.

Yes (except for the interface difference as it does not "launch" another GUI). Link for Windows is very useful.

DEX to PC/Computer is going away in OneUI 7.0

If you want to continue to hook up to your PC they are suggesting using the Windows Link from Microsoft going forward.

This does not mean DEX is leaving. You'll still be able to cast to your TV etc

I'll be very disappointed if Dex for PC goes away.  I may even consider Motorola instead.  Link for Windows is lame and so are google messages.  Samsung is removing the features that kept me around.

Don't use Microsofts. They are literally the worst. Trying to get you to plug your phone into the PC so they can identify you and your information. Seriously don't trust them after all this Copilot nonsense

Thank you all for your answers. Link for Windows is not what I want. I don't need application to download my pictures šŸ˜‰ I want full desktop GUI, like DeX for Windows. Since Samsung is retiring DeX for Windows in UI 7.0 I guess I will retire from Samsung too šŸ˜‰ It's that simple for me. I ditched apple when they started to **bleep** down my throat how to use my phone šŸ˜‰ I am not fan of anything. I just like to use something if I like the features. This DeX for Windows was best thing ever, but since they are ditching DeX, I am ditching their products. Instead of making DeX even better, they sneaked Link for Windows into my phone and I cannot even disable that app. If you want to completely remove it from phone, you can't, like it's some sort of sci fi tech nobody knows how to do it šŸ˜‰ I hope DeX over DeX station will still work after UI7 is introduced. I really hope.
