How to turn off new home pop up

So since I installed the new UI 8.0 (s23U) every time I unlock my phone I have a full screen page pop up with "Editor Picks, News, etc". Looks similar to the Samsung Members app so guessing its Samsung thing. I DONT WANT IT! So how do I turn it off? Been scouring the internet and cant find anything.

I don't have the Now brief.  Even though I don't have the update yet, I don't believe my phone will get it.  I imagine, though, that if there is no control to actually turn it off, it would work similar to the Now Bar in that if you don't want to see it, you would just deselect all content topics from it.  I can't be sure, though.  I do know that even if my phone was scheduled to get the Now brief and I actually *did* want it, I would certainly NOT want it popping up in my face when I unlocked my phone.  

I suspect what you (or at least the OP) are seeing, though, is some carrier addition.  I do not believe the Now brief would look like anything remotely similar to what the OP has pictured.

I believe it's the Samsung News App. When I went to that app and changed a few things, the notification bubble disappeared. I had the "Editor's Choice" like the OP's screenshot shows, but now I don't see it. I think I fixed my problem, I just hope this is of some help to @ChewyZookie.

The culprit is an app called Essentials. Uninstall it through the Play store. They forcibly installed it through the latest update for some inane reason.

If it was installed, it was installed by your carrier because you have a carrier locked phone.  I haven't seen any complaints about anything like this from users with a factory unlocked device.  The contract you enter into when you purchase your phone from your carrier, gives them permission to download apps to your phone in exchange for a free or heavily discounted device. if anyone snuck it into your update, it was the carrier, as they get the updates from Samsung to tweak and add/remove settings before pushing it to their users.  If you do not want mystery apps appearing on your phone, next time purchase an unlocked phone.  Samsung does not push apps to users.

Play store shows it as installed, but doesn’t give me the option to uninstall it. It also doesn't show up in the list of apps installed when I swipe up. This is downright dirty pool. My carrier is FirstNet.

It says open when I search for essentials in the Google store, but I cannot find it on my phone to uninstall it when I search for it in my apps.

I have THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. It is driving me nuts. I've NEVER had issues with Samsung or Android products.... UNTIL NOW. I am beyond frustrated

I had my phone update yesterday and now im getting this same issue and screen when I unlock my home screen. Did anybody find a clear solution?
