How to stop update reminders?

I just bought  an S23 and I refuse to update to the ridiculously ugly and stupid UI 8. Is there any way to stop the constant update reminders? And YES I did turn off the auto download but I still get reminded every day and I want this to stop. It is MY phone and I should get to decide how it looks NOT samsung. Thanks

Sorry, but you agreed to the software updates when you purchased your device the updates can be paused a couple of times and then you can't stop it from updating

While you own the hardware, Samsung owns the software on your phone and licenses a copy to you. They can legally do as they see fit when it comes to software updates, appearance, features, etc.

Yeah its ridiculous samsung forces you to update for things you dont want. They also will just force update your phone without permission. Genuinely making me want to look at other companies since I've been interrupted by an update for 10+ minutes in the MIDDLE of using my phone. Bad move on Samsung, I agree with you

Samsung does own the software.  They can do what they want.  It's all in the agreements you accepted.

Sorry, updates are not optional. You can read the TOS and EULA you consented to when you first set up the device by going to Settings > About Phone > Legal information

Well, buying their phones IS optional and its going right back to the store.

You are correct that you do not have to purchase Samsung phones. However, these policies and legal agreements are the same for every phone in existence and you will face the same auto-update agreements regardless of manufacturer.
