A new issue I've encountered very recently lol Despite the setting in the Google text messaging app which is labeled show expressive animations not being enabled, emojis now stay animated regardless of whether the setting is off or on. The Emojis used to not do their animations I think with this setting disabled but now they just do their animations anyway. Like a š will laugh and move around, Etc. This issue does not appear to happen outside of the Google text messaging app, the Emoji I just used up above did not animate. It used to be that when animations were disabled you could use an emoji and then send the text message and the Emoji would just not move. But now when I send a text messaging the Google text messaging app, even though the setting is disabled, the emojis will do their really cringe dance which totally ruins the Emojis. So I think the setting is completely broken now because the animations always happen no matter what. It's really frustrating. š
It's not an update. It's not a new feature. It's not an upgrade. It's a bug or glitch š
