Stop forcing my phone to update.

For the people who come in here to tell me that you can delay it, no you can't. it will eventually force the update anyway. Samsung, fix this broken functionality, it's been a problem for years at this point, I'm going to stop buying Samsung products.

So, you've been complaining about this for years and you still continued to buy Samsung phones, knowing this was an issue for you and that this is Samsung's update policy. And, now you are finally going to "vote with your wallet" and buy something else.  That is your choice, but I don't get why you would have continued to spend your money on devices that displeased you.  Do you think repeatedly banging your head against the wall will have different results each time other than pain?

no the update was definitely forced. the issue isn't the updates, it's not letting me pick when to apply them. horrible design for professional users.

Not the way it works you get updates and if not applied or installed in certain time frame its automatically installed i.e you delayed getting it

When you delay an update, the text clearly says you can schedule your install for a time convenient to you or it will automatically be installed on xx date. If you don't pay attention to that text, it's on you.  You only get to delay an update 3 times.  That has been policy for years.  More and more manufacturers are complying with carrier requests for compulsory updates - and updates come from your carrier. So, where other brands may have allowed you to postpone an update indefinitely, many no longer do.
