Hello everyone,

So I just learned that with the November security update I can't debloat my phone by disabling the apps. How bad is the bloatware on the new phones newer phones if I buy from Samsung directly? Is there some way to safely debloat those pesky apps (especially the ones with the games and from service providers)?

If you buy a carrier unlocked device directly from samsung (NOT one of the carrier branded ones from samsung), you will get a device that only has samsung and androids typical preload of apps. Samsung does not include any carrier apps or games, and none of the pre-installed software on an unlocked device will install applications or games without your permission. There is still some bloat, but at some point it comes down to what you consider bloat.

This really gets on my nerves as you spend a lot of money on a phone that gets bloatware added and some features disabled by the carrier branded phones. I won't buy another phone through a carrier for this reason. I'm not sure if not many people are aware of this or just don't care or even notice it. I hope more people speak out against this practice and it stops. At least on the iPhone, you can uninstall all apps and don't get bloat ware, but you don't have as many features.
