Why leave a lot of useable space at bottom of keyboard

@Mikeyr305 It looks like you have settings -> Display -> Navigation bar -> Show button to hide keyboard enabled. If you turn that off, the keyboard will sit at the bottom of the screen.

Have you tried adjusting the size of your keyboard. Adjusting it to make it smaller normally reduces the space you're commenting about.
