Hello,

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Currently, my device is running One UI 5.1 based on Android 13.

However, I understand that the latest available version for Galaxy S22 Ultra is One UI 8 based on Android 16, but when I check Settings โ†’ Software Update, it shows that my device is up to date and no newer update is available.

Could you please confirm:

Why the latest update is not showing on my device?

Is this related to region, CSC, or carrier variant?

When can I expect the One UI 8 / Android 16 update for my device?

Thank you.

Thank you for the explanation.

Currently, I am using this phone in Pakistan with a local carrier SIM.

I see. Normally to make updates work, you would need an AT&T SIM card that is active and works and then check for update. Then your phone will start getting all updates. I used the same method in order. A few years ago by going to AT&T store and asking for an active Sim card and explained what I need. Sales person gave me a sim to test in the store and my phone got all the updates (took a while though).

Thank you for sharing your experience. I understand how using an active AT&T SIM can trigger updates on AT&T variants. However, I am currently using this device in Pakistan, and an active AT&T SIM is not available here. I will try checking for updates via Samsung Smart Switch or visit an official Samsung service center if needed. Appreciate your help.

Smart Switch unlikely would be any help. Samsung service center might be able to help and you could ask them to flash your device with XAA or unlocked firmware. Good luck

You will need to have the appropriate software flashed for you region if it is possible. International and US models are completely different. The US model has the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, international model probably has the Exynos 2200 SoC. You can go to a Samsung authorized service center and see if they can change the CSC by flashing it to your device.

It would take 28 updates to get current!

I believe as stated above this may be region or csc that may be the issue because do have the latest version available.
