Hello,

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Currently, my device is running One UI 5.1 based on Android 13.

However, I understand that the latest available version for Galaxy S22 Ultra is One UI 8 based on Android 16, but when I check Settings โ†’ Software Update, it shows that my device is up to date and no newer update is available.

Could you please confirm:

Why the latest update is not showing on my device?

Is this related to region, CSC, or carrier variant?

When can I expect the One UI 8 / Android 16 update for my device?

CSC and carrier variant are likely the issues. Where did you buy your phone? Who's your carrier?

Thank you for the suggestion. Before trying it, I just want to confirm: is using Samsung Smart Switch to check for software updates completely safe and will it not affect my data or warranty?

It's used to transfer files like back up for example but can also apply monthly updates on your phone update these apps in the galaxy store links to windows and smartswitch app on your PC goto Microsoft store and download the samsung smartswitch app it will first tell you to unplug usb as it checks for updates i.e driver after that connect usb to phone and PC should get prompt on phone to allow tap confirm and allow on the PC screen at bottom of box theres a update thing should appear it will than or should start the download process

Smart Switch is a Samsung app, so nothing you do with it will affect your warranty.

I have seen this issue before. As an example, when a phone was from AT&T then was unlocked and used with another carrier(T-Mobile). Who is your current mobile carrier?
