I don't want "Recently Added Contacts" to be listed by default.

Open Phone App select contacts (bottom right) click the 3 dot menu then select Contacts Settings toggle off Show Frequently Contacted

Unfortunately there is no way to disable it at this time, aside from viewing each "recently added" contact to remove it from this list.
