How to remove Samsung Skin on Google Messages?

Does anyone know how to remove the Samsung skin from Google messages? I tried a couple of things I found on reddit etc but the apk packages they refer to are a little outdated. If I'm out of luck oh well just figured I'd ask about it. Any help appreciated.

Google msg does not have skin on it its the same look on pixels.
