add a photo to a contact on a Samsung Galaxy phone, you can do the following: 

Open the Contacts app

Select the contact you want to add a photo to

Tap Edit

Tap the Profile icon above the contact's name

Select Camera to take a new photo or Gallery to choose an existing photo

Select the photo you want to use

Adjust the photo's position and size

Tap Done

Tap Save
