Can't get Samsung messages to work on my S22 Ultra

I've had my Ultra s22 for a few months now. Still not liking or getting used to the Google messaging. Hate that it's the default. Tried a million different times to get the Samsung messenger, but doesn't let me. Guess I better get used to it.

I still think it's odd. I was able to make my default the Samsung SMS app. I wonder if it is indeed a carrier thing or a google specific thing.

it's weird that you can't disable it like I and many others were able.

Thank u everyone for ur comments and help. As Tom up above said RCS will end up being the default soon enough. Ill just keep using it and stop conplaining. Lol. So again thank u for the help!! 😊
