Did you post earlier? I think you said your phone was refurbished and model name ended in U?

Your phone's firmware likely doesn't match the mobile provider of your current SIM. The phone is looking for an update from the original mobile provider. You have a few options:

1. Connect the phone to a computer and try using Smart Switch to force the update. Details are under the second pulldown on this page:
https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10002027/

2. Talk to your current mobile provider to see if they can flash unlocked firmware to your phone.

3. Take your phone to an authorized service center to have unlocked firmware flashed. See this link to find a uBreakiFix location near you:

thank you very much. the phone is actually unlocked, I've been using it for almost a year, and i didn't know it not updating has to do with my sim itself. thank you!

You're welcome. There's a difference between being SIM (carrier) unlocked and running unlocked firmware. The unlocked firmware will allow you to use any SIM but also get the updates you're supposed to get, regardless of mobile provider.

If my previous comment helped you, please mark it as a solution. Thanks!

You're not doing anything wrong. It just means you have to get the unlocked firmware flashed to your phone. Check with your carrier first, to see if they can do it. If not, you'll have to go to a service center.
