Android texts messages went from blue to green

My gf and I both have androids, and text messages have always been blue and say delivered. Ever since Thursday they have been green when they're sent, as they do if her phone is off even though it isn't. I asked her if she got a new phone or something but says she hasn't. Im out of town for work for a month so I'm not around her to see if she still has a galaxy or not. Any idea why the messages would be green?

He hasn't received the update yet but if his wife have a different phone from the s22 that he have then maybe she received an update

Are you using Google Messages? Did one of you change the Chat colors by chance? Or do you have a color palette applied?

Is the RCS message service turned on? Sounds like they're are being sent as a regular SMS
