Not able to change album covers in Samsung music

Unsupported file error when I try to change album covers in Samsung music. Was on the phone with a technician for almost half an hour. They were unable to resolve the issue. Submitted a "ticket", got a message seven hours later that the "request has been completed." I don't know what they "completed" but I'm still having the same problem. In the past I was able to change covers. Now no matter what I do I can't.

I was having the same issue, and was unable to change the song details as well.. but it seems they've added back the ability to change album cover + metadata recently. But in order to change album covers, you have to add the one cover to each song individually... I'm just glad I'm able to change them again at least!!

im having the same issue i like to see what album it is i have done this all along i have over 500 albums all bought by me tried today and cannot do it anymore not happy

Found out if you downloaded it but cant edit the track details or the cover you have to convert it into MP3 i know this sounds stupid but after converting it'll be recognized as MP3 and will be able to edit details + cover ❤️ (i tried it on single track not album).

Don't know when this started. But, I'm now unable to change the cover art. Yes, I have the latest version (16.2.42.0).

Altering all the track info from <unknown> to something other than unknown, it will allow the cover art change.  It is a pain to do on the device, but once all the particulars are keyed in, it allows the album cover art to be altered to what you wish.  Not sure why it is this way, but I tried it on my Galaxy S22 and it worked for me.
