Might be the download size but you still need space left

The download size is 6 MB, but it may need another 30MB to untar (or unzip, whatever) and do the install. It also leaves behind installation files, which are hard to find and delete after it's finished.

On any computing device you cannot completely fill up your drive. You need at least 10% free space for apps to update, and actually work when they are open. This has been a fact since the dawn of the hard drive. Do you think a 6 mg app just plops down and sits there? It not only downloads, but at the time it's installing an update, it swaps code with the already existing app and the operating system it needs space to do this. It uses a combination of drive space and available ram. So sorry. If your drive is full, you won't be able to update. Uninstall apps you don't use too often, move photos and personal data off your phone to a flash drive. Empty the trash.

Let me see a screen shot of your open my files app where it shows the storage space.
