Why do we have to update to the Google Messages app

Whydo we have to update the system app to the Google sms app, on the Samsung s20fe? Now we get stuck with 2 Samsung apps.

check the apps actual permissions the "No Permissions Required" is a falsehood. The three dots in the upper left hand coner after locating the application and choose All Permissions

I have A54 5G A546U1 phone. I got message to change to Google messaging but continued dismiss it. I have now stopped getting the message. Will I be forced to change at some point in future?

The messages should be working still but the switch over message will continue

People at this point Samsung has made it clear that they do not value the customer's opinions and are only in this game for profit. Selling our private information to Google. At this point stop buying Samsung products because if you continue this will never end and I'm pretty sure the next app they're going to force on us will be Google Photos application. Stop buying all of their products until Samsung decides to respect the customer's values and privacy concerns. I just bought iPhones for my family and myself and I decided to stop buying Samsung products indefinitely. FYI the new Google keyboard AI automatically sensors our speech now.
