Was wondering if anybody else has had the same issue I am having every time I go to an install an APK My package installer will crash and will not install the APK. Google Play is able to install apps just fine which to my understanding uses the package installer when installing apps. I have taken all diagnostic steps here are the steps I have taken,
Force quit app
Cleared cache and data
Allowed installing apps from unknown sources on all apps
Reset all settings
Factory reset phone
Did a full factory stock firmware flash threw ODIN
Made sure I had enough space on phone (over 65gb free)
Updated all apps on Google Play
Contacted Samsung support and through Samsung tutor tried to have problem resolved and unfortunately was not able to resolve issue
Tried third party at managers to install app with no success
I am at a total loss here and not sure what to do I'm asked to go to the nearest service center or independent service center which is a little over 75 mi away and I don't have a car. Was hoping someone else may have had the issue I'm having and figured out a way to resolve it
My phone is a Samsung s20 ultra G988U US Cellular variant with 12 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM, running one UI 5.1 Android 13 with latest security patch
I also would like to note, I even tried installing APKs from different apps such as the factory Samsung folder app, Samsung browser, Chrome, Google files all with the same result
I didn't find a solution that worked. But if you badly need to install that app, you can still do it via abd. Let's wait and see if others can find any solutions.
