Now Bar Issues

I love my phone so much and have been able to change every little thing exactly to my liking, that is until one UI 7 came out. For some reason Samsung is taking a little bit too much out of apples design philosophy of being forced to use something and be powerless to change it. The now bar is a plague to my phone, ugly, unintuitive, and pathetic. If this is the response to apples dynamic island it's such a sad feature. Instead of integrating it with the hole punch in your phone using OLED animations they've decided to put an unintuitive pill in your status bar and on the bottom of your lock screen. The worst part about it is that it's completely unable to be toggled, you either have the now bar or you turn it off and you are now without a media player on your lock screen. This has to be my biggest annoyance, why would they ever make the decision to outright remove the old media player and live notification and force the use of the now bar. This "feature" is incredibly annoying and I just want my old media player back nobody wants to be tapping a small pill to change music in the car. Im praying that one UI 8 will come with a feature to toggle this abysmal setting and be able to use features like before, there needs to be a choice, that's what running android is about.

You don't have to use the Now bar at all. Just go into the Niw bar settings and turn all the content off. You will never see it again.

Yes exactly but the problem with turning it off is that I no longer have a media player on my lock screen

You can add the media player widget to the lock screen. Use Good Lock's Lockstar module to add widgets.

Do you have any recommendations for widgets? I've been looking at some and using good lock already. I've been trying to find a multipurpose media widget (shows playing media automatically from YouTube Spotify Poweramp etc) that's all in one and minimizes when your done using it. I managed to find a good multipurpose media widget but it unfortunately doesn't minimize and my notifications get in the way of it, it just doesn't have that same beautiful integration the old media player had 🥲

Sorry, I don't. I don't have widgets on my lock screen because I picked out a beautiful wallpaper that I don't want covered up.

Its not about using it, its about not seeing it. Some of us chose Samsung because we vehemently dislike Apple.

You don't have to see it - ever - if you slide off all the content. You people need to get over your "Samsung is becoming like Apple" obsession. A Samsung phone is not in any way like Apple. If you think it's becomig too much like Apple, there are many other brands out there.

The OP didn't say they didn't say they didn't want the bar because they didn't want Apple; for them it was simply about the the look and function of the bar, so I don't know why you are trying to turn their post into an " I hate Apple" screed.
