When I get a text message, for example, my notification sound for it duplicates into a lot more than one, it's a different amount each time... I tried clearing the cache but that didn't do anything...

Are you using the stock messaging app?

Have you tried wiping the cache partition on your device?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  4. Once the android recovery mode populates, then scroll to wipe cache partition using the volume down key, and select it by using the power button.
