Galaxy S PhonesI've had my phone about a year and a half, and recently the charging port has become really loose. I need to insert the charging cord really carefully (sometimes trying a bunch of times until I get it just right), then make sure I set down the phone super gently so it keeps charging. And if it gets bumped at all, it usually will just stop charging. This is incredibly frustrating and I'm worried that one of these times it just won't charge at all and I'll be without a phone. Might I need a new charging cable, or is there something wrong with the phone itself? Is there something that I can do at home by myself to try to fix it?

Galaxy S PhonesThanks for the response. I'm talking about the port on the phone. When I insert the cable, it jiggles around and there's a lot of "play" in how it fits in there. I have a type C USB cable headphone adapter that I also use that has some play, but it doesn't seem to have as much as the charging cable. And I don't have the same issues with that cable (i.e. the sound on my headphones never cuts in and out when I'm using them and I don't need to be cautious with how I hold the phone).

Galaxy S PhonesI have a similar problem. The original charging cable for my S20FE stopped working. I bought a couple of Anker cables on Amazon. One works but only in one orientation and after an increasingly long session of inserting the cable, getting the happy bubbling sound of super-fast charging followed by failure when I remove the pressure on the cable. I can't keep up the pressure for the hour or so that's required for a full charge. If I keep on trying, there comes a time when the phone spontaneously goes into fast charging and if nothing touches the cable will fully charge in usually less than hour. The other cable does not work with the phone.
One cable in my wife's office doesn't work, another comes up with an error display that the cable is disconnected, then gives me an estimate of five or six hours until fully charged. I think I tried it once overnight and it worked. For a while I had a similar experience using a usb-a to usb-c cable.
My wife's girlfriend had a solution to the same problem. She replaced the phone.
