It's been years now and I still find myselt unable to learn this UI tick.

Put it back, please. Or at least make it an option.

I open my apps and still become momentarily confused. If I'm in a hurry or frazzled it takes even longer to realize the search bar is on the bottom

I experience cognitive dissonance almost every time I look at my phone. It's not getting better. I'm not developing the "get used to it" intuition the One UI experts were sure would develop. The search bar is simply in the wrong place for me.

PLEASE PUT THE SEARCH BAR BACK AT THE TOP

sorry for the caps. It's just infuriating to use my phone.
In B4 the fanbois say "don't use Samsung then" ... No worries. I'm getting a new phone tomorrow, non Samsung. Two reasons: search bar on bottom and AI autocorrect.. Surely there are posts addressing the AI incorrect..

It's been two years. The search bar is still in the wrong place. It feels wrong. I still see people struggle with it at coffee shops. It was a bad UI decision. Put it back, please. Or at least make it an option where we want it in our own phone.

Samsung since UI 6 it has been fixed at the bottom. The only work around is to install a 3rd party launcher.

This is not correct. It changed in One UI 7.

Word. Thank you. Yeah I did use nebula launcher but using third party launchers seems to open the system up to issues. I actually wish I could use the default one and not One UI, since they don't give us options.

Using a third party launcher feels like having to configure a new phone, and so I figure since I need a new phone, just buy one from a company that cares... Though there are not many of those left.

I agree, I don't like to use 3rd party launchers either, but to each their own. 😊

And, one UI7 has not been out for two years.  So, I don't know how it has been annoying you for two years.

Using "fanbois" as a pejorative is not the insult you think it is.  There is nothing wrong with being a fan or defender of Samsung.  For the record, I'm not a fan, I'm a practicalist. If you don't like the search bar at the bottom, that's alright, but it is the decision that Samsung made.  If you want to get your message to the developers to consider changing it back, send feedback.  In the meantime you have to live with the changes or change devices.  A choice you have to, and are entitled to make.

With any production decision on any product ever made, consumers have to decide whether they can or can't live with changes made and act accordingly by addressing their dissatisfaction with the company or simply switching to another product, whether it's phones or laundry detergent.  Suggesting to someone that they switch brands does not make them a "fanboi".

It wasn't meant as a pejorative. It's a technical term

As you well know words don't start off as a pejorative, they become them.
