It's been years now and I still find myselt unable to learn this UI tick.

Put it back, please. Or at least make it an option.

I open my apps and still become momentarily confused. If I'm in a hurry or frazzled it takes even longer to realize the search bar is on the bottom

I experience cognitive dissonance almost every time I look at my phone. It's not getting better. I'm not developing the "get used to it" intuition the One UI experts were sure would develop. The search bar is simply in the wrong place for me.

PLEASE PUT THE SEARCH BAR BACK AT THE TOP

sorry for the caps. It's just infuriating to use my phone.
In B4 the fanbois say "don't use Samsung then" ... No worries. I'm getting a new phone tomorrow, non Samsung. Two reasons: search bar on bottom and AI autocorrect.. Surely there are posts addressing the AI incorrect..

It's been two years. The search bar is still in the wrong place. It feels wrong. I still see people struggle with it at coffee shops. It was a bad UI decision. Put it back, please. Or at least make it an option where we want it in our own phone.

Oh, it was very much meant as a pejorative.  That word is no longer ever used in a positive context, especially by someone who is not referring to themselves.

I already said I can't live with it and am getting a new phone that's non Samsung as a result. I'm not sure why you felt compelled to write a paragraph that amounts to "well you don't have to use it"

I did address the fanbois making this exact comment, but here we are.

That said, indeed, this is me expressing dissatisfaction with the company ๐Ÿซถ

You express dissatisfaction with the company by addressing them directly through feed back, not a rant on a user to user forum.  The Samsung powers that be will never see it, or act on your demand.

It's a community forum. Sometimes people express dissatisfaction here. The people will never hear your pleas to not express dissatisfaction here. It's why this place exists, to placate people's dissatisfaction with community support in hopes they feel heard.

In that way, you're not contributing greatly in this thread. You and others here would have me feel stupid and alone, because it makes you feel smart and elite, but I know better. You're just acting mean and bored, I assume because you can't understand how people dislike some thing you think is great, and that's not community nor supportive.
Why did you comment?

How did it end up this way, years of people requesting it either through feedback or in the Beta forums.

I have been in the last 9 Betas, in each one up to the implementation of the vertical app drawer in Ui7 with the search bar on the bottom, this has been one of my requests repeatedly.

I have also requested to be able to turn off page indicators, large folders with direct access to apps without having to open the folders. All which have been implemented either through adding it to the Ui or through Good Lock and its suite of Modules. In the last Beta I requested for those that hated not having the ability to have their pages in alphabetical order for it to be added as a choice. They did, it was added to Good Lock in the HomeUp module. The next Beta I will request for the ability to place the search bar in the app drawer at the top for those that want the option.

I pay close attention to what people request, if it is requested enough times I try to request them In the Beta forums.

You can make your voice heard through feedback in the support section of the members app. The more people that request certain features the more likely it will get implemented. That's how this works, as you should know, considering you are a software engineer.

There is value in community, otherwise this forum would not exist, and no one would post.

I appreciate your thoughtful response. I hope that more who feel this way about this feature will see this post and send feedback in the support section.

Bluntly, It could be just me, but I've never even gotten a response there except to tell me my feedback was not accepted because I didn't provide my full device diagnostic logs, which did not seem necessary for a UI feedback. The screenshot and description were very clear. Alas

I have not had any good result from Samsung's feedback, ever. It feels better to post here and commiserate. So, I especially appreciate that people like you read these feedbacks and bring them forward. Thank you ๐Ÿ™

While they may say logs weren't collected and such. The feedback and what people wrote in them does in fact get documented. If enough feedback is sent regarding certain issues they might get implemented. Mostly if it is a cosmetic function (search bar on top) Samsung will send it up the food chain to the team at Good Lock Labs, and it will. implemented there Ui changes are different, that could take 2 OS's to implement.

It's better on the bottom, also, look down, now there's no confusion where it is.
