Galaxy S PhonesI wish I could get back to that thread because it appears Samsung has acknowledged this problem and it's somehow connected to the auto updates stemming from Google Play.

Galaxy S PhonesThis is what I'm reading from the eu thread earlier today:
********
Urggh. You are right, I've just discovered that it has come back too - after a restart when the battery went flat. The reason is the Webview app is automatically re-updating itself from the Play Store. Samsung have now confirmed that Version 142.0.7444.x has a bug. You have to roll back the Webview app again to the initial version (134.x), and, as a temporary solution, you can disable automatic updates in the Play Store app (in Settings, Network Preferences, Auto Update Apps). Samsung have now flagged the issue with Google so they should rectify this in due course and then it will be fine to re-enable automatic updates. Unfortunately it means you'll have to manually update all the other apps for a while. Hopefully it won't take Google too long to resolve.

Galaxy S PhonesYes correct, I searched on other forums too I mean non samsung there other models and brands are experiencing the same glitch which runs on android.
Sadly, there is no way around to hold that app from updating itself.

Galaxy S PhonesYou cannot disable in it in playstore updates. You uninstall the webview updates and it works for a while then it pulls down the faulty version again and your back to square one. Its a debacle. As far as I can see we all have to sit and wait until its patched by google. Only noticed it on my phone last week as I needed to write a longer than normal email. Remember heaps of people are not even aware of it yet as they may only send one paragraph replies.
There will be more people complaining as it gains traction and I will be buggered if I am going to roll it back in the vain hope an older version may work when you have 10 email accounts to setup. Yeah...Nah...
