Email Scrolling Problem

A week ago I started having an issue while using the Samsung email app that acts like some type of scroll lock.

I can open the email app, select which email account I want to use with no problem. But, when I try to type a message in a new email or reply to an email I can only type until the text message body meets the keyboard box. At that point the cursor/screen snaps back up to the top of the message. It won't allow me to scroll further down the screen. I can keep typing but there's no way to view what I'm writing.

Something has changed in the Samsung email program because it was working right before. This happens with I use both MSN and Comcast emails. My Samsung phone no longer receives updates so that can be ruled out as the cause. I've not changed any settings.

This is very aggravating! I've seen that other users are having this same problem with all stating that the issue started in the past couple of weeks. What's changed? C'mon, Samsung... fix this ASAP! This is totally unacceptable!!

I was in the original eu thread where Yousuf provided fix. It works but then in a day or overnight it reverts back to not scrolling.

I wish I could get back to that thread because it appears Samsung has acknowledged this problem and it's somehow connected to the auto updates stemming from Google Play.

Thanks! Samsung's explanation does make sense that it's not coming from a Samsung update because my S10 no longer gets their updates. Nice that they acknowledge the problem but wondering who'll fix it and when.

I'm trying to get back into that eu thread which has more current info.

This is what I'm reading from the eu thread earlier today:

Urggh. You are right, I've just discovered that it has come back too - after a restart when the battery went flat. The reason is the Webview app is automatically re-updating itself from the Play Store. Samsung have now confirmed that Version 142.0.7444.x has a bug. You have to roll back the Webview app again to the initial version (134.x), and, as a temporary solution, you can disable automatic updates in the Play Store app (in Settings, Network Preferences, Auto Update Apps). Samsung have now flagged the issue with Google so they should rectify this in due course and then it will be fine to re-enable automatic updates. Unfortunately it means you'll have to manually update all the other apps for a while. Hopefully it won't take Google too long to resolve.

Thanks, again! The play store auto updating sounds plausible. Glad Samsung has made Google aware of the issue. Have you tried disabling auto updates yet?

Yes correct, I searched on other forums too I mean non samsung there other models and brands are experiencing the same glitch which runs on android.

Sadly, there is no way around to hold that app from updating itself.

Same. I am trying a floating kb for the moment (too small, really bad) but this is for sure a major bug!!!

Sadly I'm moving to Outlook email, which is not my app of choice. Samsung is just too slow to respond, let alone fix.

Same problem on two S24 ultra phones and two Samsung tablets with different is and op sys. So it is definitely the email app 6.2.06.0 that is the problem. I went back to a phone with an earlier version of email app and it works fine.

You cannot disable in it in playstore updates. You uninstall the webview updates and it works for a while then it pulls down the faulty version again and your back to square one. Its a debacle. As far as I can see we all have to sit and wait until its patched by google.  Only noticed it on my phone last week as I needed to write a longer than normal email. Remember heaps of people are not even aware of it yet as they may only send one paragraph replies.

There will be more people complaining as it gains traction and I will be buggered if I am going to roll it back in the vain hope an older version may work when you have 10 email accounts to setup.  Yeah...Nah...
