Is a drafted message automatically deleted prior to sending it because of a max character limit of 1000 words?

Messaging has character limits, but the loss is likely associated with the phone trying to free up memory if you switched apps or performed some other action. Messaging text fields are held in a temporary state and do not enter the device's long-term memory. For this reason, you should be drafting documents using an appropriate app, such as Samsung Notes or Google Docs instead of a messaging app.

If you are using SMS, there is a character limit. It has always been this way. RCS has no such character limit.  I do not know if the draft would get automatically deleted, but it certainly will not accept any more characters.  If you navigate out of the app, your draft may very well disappear.  It's best to compose a draft message in a notes app and then copy and paste it when it is complete and ready to send, or send it in multiple parts as you complete your thought.  It's much better to do that than blame Samsung for something they did not do, as per your previous post.

I don't like using the notes app because it's too large and takes a lengthy message into 12 different pages long. Whereas a drafted message keeps everything on one long page.

You can setup the Notes app to be Infinite scrolling instead of Pages

Open Notes tap the 3 lines

Gear Icon

Default Note Style

and select Infinite scrolling page

You can have one continuous note in the notes app.

You're welcome I completely understand I hate pages and prefer to have the infinite scrolling toggled on
