Note 8 & 9 origionally purchased through Verizon. Both work with Verizon SIM card. Verizon tech says the phones are not locked. I reset network settings. Incerted a Consumer Cellular SIM card, rebooted.  But it says " SIM card is not from Verizion" and will not work on with a Consumer Cellular SIM card. on both my note 8 and note 9.

I also have a Note 10 and the  Consumer Cellular SIM card.does work on my Note 10.

How can I remove Verizon from the phones 8 & 9?

I'm having the same problem, only I want T-Mobile.

Hopefully a Samsung rep/tech will chime in on how to resolve this. The phones work, but my wife and I are power users of our phones. My FIL's phone broke and he is on CC, this is a perfect fit for him.

This is *not* a Samsung issue, it is a Verizon issue.  You must get them to unlock the phone.  You purchased the phone through Verizon, so it is a Verizon locked model, it has to be unlocked before you can put another carrier's SIM into it, even if that carrier piggybacks off Verizon's network.

If it's not accepted the other Sims my guess is that it's still locked to verizon

It is most definitely locked to Verizon. Call their customer service dept and request that they unlock it. They can do it while you're on the phone with them.
