so there was this google problem that i originally had on my phone where google play services wasn't updating, therefore my google messages didn't work, which i fixed over time. i got an update, everything went smoothly. now, youtube keeps crashing over and over and over no matter what i do. i just threw my phone out of frustration cuz it really just crashed four times in 10 minutes. i've tried doing all the basic stuff like the cash, restarting the phone, and all the other stuff, it seems like google's going through a midlife crisis right now.
I've always disabled and hidden the official YouTube app on my phones.
I used to view YouTube videos in my favorite web browser. Now I use an app that I found on F-droid. The original app is called NewPipe. There's also a fork of it called Tubular, which has some additional ad-blocking options.
YouTube's ads are blocked by both of these. If you have a YouTube account, you won't be able to log in with either of them. This doesn't bother me as I don't have an account and only want to watch the videos.
