As the title says Iโ€™ve been an iPhone user for 15 years. Pretty sick of the same **bleep** year in and year out. My wife and I stopped by Verizon yesterday and ordered our new phones. She got a 25 ultra. We got free watches. So that was cool.

But what are the troubles? I wanted the fold mainly for work and travel. Itโ€™ll connect so much better with office products. But I do have a personal iCloud account. Should I try to move everything to Gmail or how hard was the change for you?

Congrats and welcome aboard! I think @CEParsons or another former iPhone user could help you.

Welcome to the Galaxy!

Unlike iCloud, Google services are cross-platform compatible, so you can start using Google One on your iPhone for cloud storage and discontinue using iCloud in preparation for the switch.

Make sure you not only disable iMessage, but fully disassociate your phone number. This has been known to cause issues with receiving messages after switching as iPhone users will continue to send iMessages you no longer have access to.

Here's the Apple guide on how to do that: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/

Once you have your device in-hand, you can transfer any data you want on-device and not just in the cloud using Smart Switch.

Since you are coming from an iPhone, using navigation gestures instead of buttons will ease your transition and make using the phone feel more familiar.

One last thing: when you first get your device, you will notice something you don't have out-of-the box with iOS: CHOICE.

You will notice duplicate apps from competing ecosystems: namely, Google, Samsung, and Microsoft suites of apps. Most of these are matters of preference, but one you 100% want to opt for is Google Messages as your text messaging app. You will get RCS, which will give you most of the iMessage features you are used to. This compatible cross-platform with both Android and iOS devices.

Dont hesitate to reach out if there's anything else you'd like to know about!

Welcome to the greener side of your old walled garden.

The first thing that is imperative is to get INSURANCE on your Fold 7!

While Samsung has improved durability on each of the iterations of the Fold Series they are due to the nature of the inner screen more fragile than the outer slab glass screen. They are very expensive if you have to get it repaired.

Second thing, please don't one of those naked people, put a case on it!

Everything said here is true ive been through 2 flips and 2 zfolds all have ended with the inner screen issue. Samsung offers no support if there is no insurance and won't let you use it as a discount on your new phone atleast with my Galaxys S20 all I had was a screen burnt issue
