Fold & Flip PhonesI’m a Korean American using two phones: a Galaxy Z Fold 6 and an iPhone 13 Pro. Over the last two years, I’ve visited Korea several times. As a foreigner, I always make sure I’m prepared—transit, local currency, maybe an eSIM.
This time, I discovered that Korea’s Tmoney card can’t be added to Samsung Wallet, even though my iPhone supports it. Seriously? Samsung Wallet even supports Japanese transit cards—though not as smoothly as Apple, which bundles everything neatly into a few cards like Suica. But how does it make sense that Samsung Wallet doesn’t support the major transit card of the country where Samsung itself is based?
For me as a foreigner, using Samsung Wallet in Korea felt almost as frustrating as trying to sign up for any other Korean service that demands a Korean SSN.

Fold & Flip Phones
They may not have agreements with certain Korean entities. Samsung Wallet is a virtual newcomer to international finance. You are much better off using Google wallet or Apple Pay when you travel, as they are more established.
