Moved to galaxy watch and z fold 7 from iphone 15. Apple health app tracked my daily resting calories burnt at around 2000. My active was around 1000 so under total calories i used to see an avg of 3000. The samsung health daily activity total calories doesn't make sense. Even though my active calories was 1000 plus, it is showing total calories of approx 2500 only !! Where is the balance 500 gone all of a sudden?

Who is to say which watch has the more accurate measurement.  Perhaps Apple nudged it upwards all these years.  Perhaps Samsung is inaccurate on the downward side.  They may use different metrics in measuring calorie burn.  You would have to consult with a physiologist to get an accurate baseline, and they may even use a different metric.  None of these devices are perfect, so they should be used as a guide, not stone tablets.

You misunderstood what the post is stating. The math isn't accurate, based on the watch's own information. The watch's reported BMR + Active calories should equal the total. It never does.

Once again, if the Apple watch says your resting calories (BMR) is 2000 calories, who is to say that Apple was measuring that accurately?  When I look at the health app, I don't see where it shows my resting calories, I only see activity calories.  If I want to figure my BMR, I would have to subtract my activity calories from my total calories burned. So, if my total burned calories was 1449 at the end of the day and my activity calories were 274, I'd have a BMR of 1175.  My point is that not only does your BMR fluctuate day to day, it may be measured differently (accurately or inaccurately) by the different watches and their respective algorithms
