Fold & Flip Phones

I purchased this phone in August, by the end of September, I was getting a warranty replacement. Now, beginning of November the screen is malfunctioning AGAIN. I click on an icon to open an app and it either will not open OR open then flip screens, flip apps, etc. Its hard to even type message because it keeps flipping. I am not trying to replace this phone every month.

It sounds incredibly frustrating to be dealing with recurring screen issues on your Galaxy Z Fold 6, especially given its recent replacement. Display-related problems like apps flipping and not responding to touch can often indicate hardware issues, especially with foldable devices where the flexible screen and hinge mechanism add more complexity. However, before considering another replacement, here are a few steps you can try to ensure itā€™s not a software or settings-related problem:

1. Check for Software Updates: Samsung frequently releases updates, especially for new and complex devices like the Z Fold series. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to ensure you have the latest version installed.

2. Adjust Touch Sensitivity and Screen Protector: If youā€™re using a screen protector, especially if itā€™s not the one provided by Samsung, it may interfere with touch accuracy. You can also increase the touch sensitivity in Settings > Display > Touch sensitivity to see if it improves responsiveness.

3. Safe Mode Test: Booting into Safe Mode can help determine if a third-party app is causing these issues. To enter Safe Mode, hold down the Power button until the power menu appears, then tap and hold Power off until you see Safe Mode. If the problem stops in Safe Mode, itā€™s likely due to an app conflict.

4. Reset All Settings: In Settings > General management > Reset > Reset settings, you can reset your device settings without erasing your data. This will reset preferences like display and network settings, which could help if a configuration is causing the issue.

5. Contact Samsung Support for Diagnostic: Since this is a recurring problem, reach out to Samsung Support with your repair history. Explain the issue and ask if they can escalate the case or perform a more thorough diagnostic to identify a root cause. They may offer extended support or look into deeper repairs beyond a straightforward replacement if thereā€™s a specific issue with the device batch.

If none of these options help, it might indeed be worth requesting another replacement, as foldables can be sensitive
