Z-Fold 7 - No Sound Notifications When Folded

So, after years of being loyal to the Note and S Ultra series, I decided to try the Fold 7, especially since the camera is about on par with the Ultra Series. 

So, I have discovered a problem. When the phone is folded, I rarely get notifications. The notifications are on the phone but no sound. And I am an IT Director and just 1 of 2 IT persons and I need my sound notifications. I've rebooted and maybe for a bit, I would get them. But when the front screen is locked and sleeping, I do not get notifications. 

Any solutions to this?

@BrianWolt That's very odd. Do you have any routines running? Perhaps one that is enabling DND or setting the notification volume to mute when the device is closed?

Are you using a watch with UI 8? You might have this seeing enabled.

I am having the same issue with the Z fold 7 and this isnt a new issue. People have had this issue with android phones for years and it seems the issue still exists. Crazy! Luckily I still have my iPhone. I am sending back the phone and the watch. 

I also am using it for work and my work CRM app notifications are delayed up to 10 mins and email notifications sometimes don't even show up. When I unlock the phone the notifications pop up. Crazy that a $2,000 phone would have these issues. So frustrating!

Did you try what @LongHiker suggested? 

I got both the Z Fold 7 and Watch 8, and my 'issue' was precisely what he mentioned. Now everything works like it should. 

Wearable app > Watch settings > Notifications > Phone notifications on watch > Select: Always show on both

Yep!  Same issue here.  First I realized the Watch setting where it wouldn't notify me on my phone I've enabled the option to show notifications on my phone AND watch, but now I notice randomly I'm not getting notifications on my phone.   It's interesting because I had an Oppo Find N5 (the thinnest foldable) before this, and it too had the same issues (watch wasn't even purchased yet).  It would randomly stop sending me audible notifications.

@miniCocoa  Did you know there's an option in the Galaxy Wearable app that you need to enable notifications (per app) to show on your watch?  By default, it only notifies for Samsung apps and maybe a few Google apps.  Once you find the setting (in the wearable app) you can toggle each app you want to receive notifications from.  I get the idea, I don't need a notification for every single app coming to my watch, but I don't think Samsung did a good job of making this obvious!
