My z fold 5 did an update recently and since then I've been having issues with my phone. When unfolding the device, the display doesn't adjust to fill and sometimes when unfolded, the display will go gray, turn off, and then stop working. I didn't have these issues before the update, so I'm just wondering is this a bug? and is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Hello, Welcome to the Community. We can certainly understand how frustrating it is when your device is not working as designed.

With the phone having recently updated, we recommend clearing the cache partition and repairing the apps in the Recovery Menu.

To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.
- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.

This article provides some steps that may help with the phone unexpectedly powering off. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01002035/

You can also run diagnostics to test the hardware in the Members app. Open the Members app>Select the Support tab>Select Phone Diagnostics.

If the phone continues to power off, it is recommended to have the phone evaluated at an authorized service center. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.
