Has anybody else lost the functionality of the middle of their phone when it's open to the full screen since the update? I think I now I have to change to a iPhone. Is all I've heard is bad things since the update to any of the Samsung phones not just the fold.

Fold & Flip Phones@smil Have you ran the diagnostics in Samsung Members app -> Support?
I'm guessing that you will need to contact Samsung Support.
For immediate assistance, one option is to use the Samsung Members app -> Support -> Send text. This will open up live troubleshooting.
Another option is to contact Samsung support via https://www.samsung.com/us/support/contact/

Fold & Flip Phones@smil I have the Fold 7 and don't have any issues with the update. What phone do you have and what exactly is the issue that you are having?

Fold & Flip PhonesTry following the Best practices after an update guide. The issue may or may not be software related. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/Best-Practices-After-an-Update/ba-p/3200871?src=Shar...
If this doesn't resolve the issue, run diagnostics in the support tab of this app.
You may need to visit a certified Samsung repair center to fully diagnose the issue.
Find one near you: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/locations/
If your device is within the limited one year warranty period, you should be eligible for a warranty repair if needed.
Switching mobile platforms entirely is a pretty drastic response to a single issue with a device in an emergent form factor.
If you still find yourself nervous or unhappy with your foldable after your issue is resolved, you may consider trading in for a phone with a more traditional form factor. I personally traded my Flip5 for an S24+ and it was a substantially easier process than switching to iOS would have been.
I can personally assure you I have had no issues with my S series phone since updating, nor have millions of other users. Samsung devices are used all over the world every day without issue.
