Fold & Flip Phones

Had a crease form on the inner screen in the middle of the fold 7 at hinge and then the screen ended up going black and not working anymore. I sent this in to Samsung for repairs and they told me that there was physical damage which there was not and now want me to pay a $700 repair fee and not covered under warranty. I've only had the phone several months. There's been no physical damage or dropping of the phone. Will never buy another Samsung. I've had folds five in the past. No problems at all. Have bought only all Samsung phones in the past. No problems at all. This is a huge problem with the service customer support and not honoring warranties. Very unhappy

Issues with screen will never be covered under warranty. You have not way to prove that you didn't do something to the screen. This is why I always take care +. I had a few issues with Fold 5 screen ( had to be repaired multiple time) and once with Fold 6. Having care + saved me ton of money.

Care+ seems like a must with foldables.

Thanks for the reply. Never had issues with the fold 5. I don't think should have to have a warranty when there is a warranty. You can see physical damage on the outside which there is none. I will never buy a fold from Samsung or for that matter any Samsung device again. They should honor their warranty and take care of their customers.  I didn't pay 2K for a phone just to stop working after 3 months of use.

Device manufacturer warranties typically only cover manufacturer defects, which are notoriously difficult to prove. Hence the need for extended coverage. It's not meant to be favorable to the consumer.
