Fold & Flip Phones

I know the Z-flip 7 is hopefully coming out. Why so thin though. I know when its folded it would be almost the same thickness of a normal phone. But when unfolded. How are you going to hold it without putting your hands on the screen. It would be like typing on thick cardboard. I know that making thin phones are hard but do they need to be so thin that it would be harder to hold?

Any thoughts?

If the phone is thin, it wouldn't be heavy.  I am sure it would be considerably lighter than a normal phone.  Might be awkward because the unfolded would be twice as large as a regular phone.  But, I'm sure they engineered durability into it.  You have to touch the screen to use the phone anyway, so what's the difference if you have to hold it around the screen edges?

I do not see where you are coming from. I held the S25 Edge, unbelievable holding that device in your hand. I would have been all over that phone if the battery is bigger and it had a telephoto lens instead of wide angle.

As long as it is balanced what makes you think you are going to drop it?

Thinner is better in my opinion if it weighs less it will be less likely to drop it compared to a thick heavy and bulky device.

I dont mind the thinness but I hate rhe glass like feel of the newer phones outer layer itself . Its slippery which makes it definitely not safe to use without a cover, which I would like to go without sometimes๐Ÿ˜ฅ

While I dont think phones should be getting as skinny as they are, making it harder to type on is not one of the issues that being thin introduces.

I've had every fold that's done. They've been made.... i don't know about the flip, but I know after having the fold. I will only have photogrables from now on. I don't know how I could go back to using their regular phone. It wouldn't even feel right lol

If Samsung is intent to make their devices thinner and lighter, they have to rethink the camera housing. The jutting camera hump on the side of the phone makes the phone unusable on a flat surface.

I would like to see some form of horizontal camera housing similar to the Pixel or the One+13. The tear drop has to go!
