Fold & Flip PhonesHi I'm not sure why but in the last month or so my galaxy Z flip 4 has been really acting up. First it keeps popping up saying I have to delete everything because nothing would work on my phone camera, seeing movies, dl audiobooks ect. So I finally gave in and delete everything it was telling me to I lost all my pictures my books I had dl my music pretty much every thing. And after I did all that its still saying the same thing! So I restarted the phone thinking maybe that would help but it didn't. Right now I don't know what else to do I lost everything some pics of my mom and dad and my best dog ever I can never get back because they are all dead now. My grandsons I'll never see again because their mom took them and moved. So this was very hard decision to make, but I did what the **bleep** phone said I had to do lost everything and it still don't work. 😞 I would appreciate any help at all.
Thank you
Ann

Fold & Flip PhonesAre you sure your pictures were not saved in Google Photos? Your photos back up to Google Photos, so they should not be lost, even if they are missing from your phone. Either open the Google Photos app, or open a web browser and to to photos.google.com and check to see if your photos are still there.
I know of know function of the system that would tell you to "delete everything", sounds like you picked up some malware. Even if something went wrong with your system, you would either get normal system error messages or you would be told to factory reset.
My suggestion would be to 1) stop deleting everything, 2) go to the security and privacy settings and run a scan of your system, 3) download an anti-malware program and run another scan, 4) make sure you have a current back up of your phone (and make sure you check Google Photos), 5) do a factory reset of your phone.
If you get another pop up telling you to delete something, see if you can take a screen shot and then upload it here so we can see what you are seeing.

Fold & Flip Phones- Hi I tried everything you said to try and Google picture doesn't have anything in it but Amazon picture does! Thank God I did not want to loose the ones with my mom& dad and my dog that died. Anyways you said the last thing was to go to factory reset but I was so afraid of loosing my pictures I chicken out and didn't do that. You also said to try and get what its coming up saying but I am not tech savvy at all and I can't figure out how to get the msg attached to this can you try and walk me through attaching it?

Fold & Flip PhonesTo take a screen shot, either hold the volume down and side buttons simultaneously, pull down the quick panel and look for the screen shot icon, or gently slide the side of your hand from right to left across your screen. To attach a photo, tap the + next to the text window in the app and then select your picture from the gallery. As long as you have your photos saved somewhere, you don't need to be worried about factory resetting your phone. You can restore your settings and apps from the automatic backup.
If you ran a malware check through the app protection in security and privacy settings, that may not have been enough to find whatever is doing this to you. Try downloading another antimalware from the Play store, such as AVG, Malwarebytes or other reputable detector. Some malware can't be detected through these scanners, as they are not actually installed on your device. It could be malicious adware. If it's malicious adware, you should download Good Lock and the Nice Catch module and go to the settings and turn on detect toasts and detect commercials. That may give you a clue to the app that's sending out these beacons. You can then uninstall that app.
I also recommend that you download the photos that are in Amazon and put them on a flash drive, so you can feel secure that you have multiple backups of your precious photos.
The possibility exists that one of your accounts was hacked and someone is messing with you. Change your passwords to your Google an Samsung accounts right away. If possible, do it from another device. Do it after you reset your phone and set it up, but before you restore any backup.

Fold & Flip Phones- Hi thanks for helping me. If I do have malwear how do I get rid of it? I ran the Google to see if I do have a virus and it gave me all Green checks saying everything is fine. I cannot get the screenshot to attach to this letter.
