Iโ€™m reaching out with growing frustration regarding my Galaxy Z Fold 5. For the past month, the device has been repeatedly freezing and restarting. During these episodes, a loud, high-pitched sound sometimes occurs, followed by the screen going black and the phone either restarting on its own or requiring a manual power-on.

These issues began immediately after a recent software update. I visited a certified Samsung repair center today, and after a full diagnostic, they confirmed there are no hardware faults. Their assessment points to a software or firmware bug.

Iโ€™ve been a loyal Samsung user for years, and Iโ€™ve already tried every recommended solution: clearing the cache, performing a factory reset, and ensuring third-party apps arenโ€™t the cause. Iโ€™ve also posted on the support forums, but the problem persists. At this point, I canโ€™t reliably take callsโ€”many end abruptly due to the freezing and rebooting.

Please advise on the next steps to resolve this issue. Iโ€™m hoping for a prompt and effective solution, as this is severely impacting my ability to use the device.

@userBxJlFxeRhO Did you wipe the device cache partition after the update? I recommend that you do this after every device update. It wipes out incompatible or outdated cache information which might be incompatible after the update. It does not erase any user data nor applications.

To wipe the device cache partition:

1. Power off your device.
2. Power up while holding down the Volume up key and the Side key until the Samsung logo appears.
3. An Android recovery menu will appear.
4. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Wipe cache partition.
5. Click the side key to select it.
6. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Yes.
7. Click the side key to select it. The Cache will be wiped almost instantaneously.
8. Click the side key to select "Reboot system now"

Similar symptoms.  No high pitch sound though. Try clearing the cache. Just factory reset my phone and its still freezing and restarting

For individuals experiencing this issue, I recommend submitting the device to Samsung for repair, as a service fee will apply. I personally utilized this service, and the repair was successful, with my phone now functioning optimally.
