Google messages will not transfer to new z fold 7. Have done factory reset and can see them on other devices with the same account. This a bug with oneui 8?
One thing that you can do is, using the old phone, go to phone settings -> Accounts and backup. Under Samsung Cloud, click on Back up data. Ensure Messages is enabled and then click on Back up now.
Once that completes, on the new phone, go phone settings -> Accounts and backup. Under Samsung Cloud, click on Restore data. Select the backup that you just made. Ensure Messages is selected and then click on Restore now.
Just got it fixed. I transferred my messages from the fold six to a Google pixel. Then I transferred them from the Google pixel to the new fold 7. The only thing I can think of is the fold six was in the beta program and I was in the beta program for the watch ultra. Maybe something messed up while in beta.
If you do the Smart switch you can select just SMS and contacts to transfer without having to wipe the device. It was not showing me the transfer of messages or the quantity of messages from the old phone at all. I could only see that successfully from the pixel phone.
