Are there any plans of the Samsung messages being reimplemented in the Z? Flip series phones. I ami'm asking because I love the customization on Samsung messages Vs Google messages. Or are you going to add certain customization? To google messages?

There are currently mixed signals regarding the future of Samsung Messages.

Samsung initially appeared to be phasing out Samsung Messages starting in 2024 and they have been intermittently limiting availablity/removing features since then.

However, in UI8.5 SMessages appears to be getting a visual refresh for some unknown reason.

As long as it shows up for you in the Galaxy Store, Samsung Messages is still available and you can still use it, but RCS support for Samsung messages may be limited or inconsistent depending on your carrier.

As a personal example, I have no access to RCS in Samsung messages while some users report retaining access.

At present, Google Messages remains the most reliable way for most users to access advanced messaging features.

If you want improved customization in Google messages, you would need to send a feature request to Google.

OK so the only issue I have again with Google messages. Is that it doesn't have a lot of customization. You can only change the bubbles on the chat pages with Samsung messages. You're able to change the background. And all the colors in the chat, so are they trying to upgrade Google messages like that? Or are they just gonna keep that the same? That's what's keeping me from really sticking with Google messages. I have access right now to using Samsung messages with all of the customization. And I have some rcs capabilities, but not all, especially when it comes to my group chats, they get turned off. If everyone is not rcs enable

Google has not made any kind of announcement about adding custom image backgrounds to Google Messages at this time.

You will need to send a feature request to Google using the feedback mechanism in the Google messages app.

You may have limited RCS access in Samsung messages depending on your carrier.

Group chats should fall back to MMS if RCS is unavailable, so make sure you have that enabled in your chosen messaging app. If the failure seems to be specific to Samsung messages, you may consider switching to Google Messages for better functionality regardless of aesthetic options.1769628091026.jpg1769628091040.jpg

Just an FYI, frequent switching may be contributing to your issues. Google Messages and Samsung messages use different implementations of RCS, and you are de-registering/re-registering each time you switch.

I would personally recommend sticking with GM for more complete and consistent messaging features, but the choice is ultimately yours.

Okay, I understand the only other issue.I'm having is when it comes to group chats.I can only add people in google messages.I can't delete people. But with samsung messages, I can add or remove in the group chat. That's one of the major reasons that's keeping me with samsung messages. Google messages is also good for archiving message. But I also like samsung messages' ability to create categories for people as well. So I guess I'll just have to make a decision on.Which app to use.
