Fold 7 keeps freezing when opened

Right before I did the update today Aug 5th the phone started acting up. I did the update and a couple of soft resets. With no change. All apps are closed. 

Issues 
When opened it will barley responds/freeze when I use the home or recent app buttons. 


Update I just did the optimization for memory and it is better. Still stuttering when apps are being seleted.

If your Galaxy device’s touchscreen is frozen or does not respond to touch, it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong with your device. It could be something as simple as a faulty app or cracks in the screen that are causing the problem. If the phone was acting up prior to the update, why didn't you try to find out what the issue was before installing the update?  Unless an update is released to fix a specific issue, they don't usually fix anything and could make existing problems worse.

It just started today. I was hoping the update could fix it. Anyways it's still acting up to where the home/recent doesn't function right at all but only when it's open.

By chance, what were the recent Apps showing?

Are they Ram intensive gaming. If you haven't tried Battery & Device Care in settings and let it recover Ram is my guess.

I just noticed this when a game hangs and then see Ram was reduce by half.

I then hit memory a few times to recover more Ram. Just a thought to try.

The first thing I did was close the apps everytime. I did do the device care thing and my ram rest at 5g free.

Also definitely an issue unlocking only while opened as well.

Can you explain in more detail what has been happening?  I don't understand what you mean when you say the home/recent doesn't function right but only when it's open. Also, have you cleared the phone's cache partition?  That can sweep away a whole lot of issues.

Whenever your device is acting up, and especially after a software update is to perform a wipe cache partition always.

So when I press to go home or see recent apps it would not respond and or freeze the screen to be inop.

I did the cache reset and it fixed it. Thank you

Ok it worked for like 5m now it's doing the same thing. I had this phone for a week and it's been flawless until this issue came up today.


It's just glitches, when I press the recent apps it will either freeze or go to the last app and freeze it. I try to press home and no response. This only happens when the phone is open. But it happens all the time so using while open sucks unless if you open one app and don't press home or recent.
