Feature Request: Bring back mute from Volume button on the side of the phone

The alternative solutions posted in this thread do not address the underlying issue. Having to install a 3rd party app for routines, swiping to open another menu to navigate or going into settings all take longer than simply holding down the volume button to get to mute. Terrible design idea

This new feature is so annoying. Please let us use the volume down key to mute. I installed a routine of double volume down to mute, but now I can't rapidly adjust volume down precisely by tapping volume down rapidly bc the routine just mutes.

Removing being able to go to silent mode using the volume button was the single most idiotic decision I've ever seen made.

Who thought this was a good idea? What was simple and logical now requires more step for no godforsaken reason. No one asked for this. Stop trying to emulate iphones. There's a reason people like Samsung phones. It's because it ISN'T an iPhone.

Just got the new update a few days ago. I HATE that I can't switch it to mute with the buttons!!! I usually do this a few times a day. This is the dumbest thing to take away!!

Amazing how many Samsung employees are hiding as regular users 😂.

No amount of "just set up the routine for your home screen" or "go to your settings" will make this any less braindead of an update.  

The only thing close to bringing the feature back is setting volume up + volume down to mute all as a macro, but this requires you to hold them for 3 seconds.

All they did was add extra steps for a feature that was already working as intended.

Keep on bootlicking 🤷
