So Smasnug, can you give us the ability to access to our files please? Also allow us to uninstall any system apps that aren't necessary like Smasnug internet. You might want to change the name to iSam because the software is becoming closed source... It's a shame that I have to use a 3rd party app to see my system files. And even then I can't delete anything.

A 3rd party file explorer will help you get into recently made accessible files or folders (like the android / media folder)

I hope this isn't against Samsung's guidelines..but I used an app called Canta to remove preinstalled apps. It's pretty good at organizing preinstalls by how important they are to your.

Canta needs debugging access which you can do Wireless debugging through the Shizuku app. Just turn on Wireless Debugging (built into the developer options), open the Shizuku app and follow the instructions and you'll be uninstalling the apps you don't want within 2 minutes. There's no need to get on a PC now.

Also Canta makes a backup of the apps and has a list of all the apps you've removed so you can bring them back if needed.

My only issue now is removing the contacts app, because even though I use Google Contacts and Google Phone, selecting a contact from the contacts tab takes you to Samsung Contact's editing page with no way to change it. I'm actually gonna request help with that here lol

@Eiffelpex  You actually can select Google contacts as your default list/save location.  Go to the contacts app (NOT the contacts tab in the phone dialer), click on the 3-line menu on the upper left and the slide out will show you the contacts manager.  In the window, it will show "all contacts", tap that and select Google contacts from the list and that will become your default contact location.  You can also managecontacts by moving/merging and eliminating duplicates.

Thank you so much bro. But, viewing or saving to by default isn't my issue. Let's say I go to the Google Phone app, then the contacts tab (1st image).. From there, if I tap a contact, it opens Samsung Contacts where I can edit call or text (2nd image) instead of Google Contacts (3rd image).

If I remove the Samsung contacts app, and try to view a contact from the Google dialer, then a dialog pops up (4th image)

This is something that just started happening1733157802819.jpg1733157802850.jpg1733157802886.jpg1733157802912.jpg

Heve you tried moving all your contacts into Google? Do you still get the same error? I keep nothing in my Samsung account because it's so proprietary and can't be exported for use elsewhere. If I decided to leave Samsung, all my contacts would be lost. I have always kept all my contacts in Google. I'm actually surprised, if you use phone by Google I would have thoght it would default to Google contacts.

Yes I have all of my contacts in Gmail. There are the ones that came from the SIM card that automatically went to Samsung Contacts but the rest are in Google Contacts.

The crazy part is Phone by Google USED to default to Google Contacts. Then there was a bug about 2 months ago that made me pick a default EVERY TIME I wanted to see a contact. And now the bug is gone and I don't have the choice to use Google Contacts by default

Maybe you should get in touch with the Google team.
