Hi, I am using an external monitor with a docking station. I would like to be able to turn on the laptop with the lid closed so I can store it in a compartment and not on my desk (to save space) as I am not using the laptop screen anyway.

In the Samsung settings app I only see an option to start it up when it is connected to the AC while the lid if open.

What are my options? will Wake-On-Lan turn it on from total shutdown? should I never turn it off and just let it hibernate - will that work?

Hello @Florestan! Thank you for reaching out! The only option that may work is to try the sleep/hibernation method as WOL will only work with the laptop in sleep mode or hibernation mode not a complete shut-down. If you have this option go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what closing the lid does, and Set "When I close the lid" to "Do nothing" under both "On battery" and "Plugged in". It should wake up with the connected mouse and keyboard. Please also be aware that while it is in a closed space to have proper ventilation. If this doesn't work there may be third party options, but I would be unable to suggest any.
